I’m Sharell D. Cannady, the Chief Executive Officer of Docked Ships, and I created this space in 2020 for African American women who do it all—balancing careers, businesses, caregiving, and community responsibilities—while feeling stretched thin and overlooked. If you’ve ever been the one holding it all together on the outside while running on empty inside, sis, you are exactly who this movement is for.


 

Why Docked Ships?

If you’re a high-achieving, over-functioning Black woman, you know what it means to be the anchor for everyone else—pushing through exhaustion, silencing your struggles, and rarely pausing to celebrate your own wins. I see you because I’ve been you.

My work in mental health showed me that Black women’s struggles go beyond stress—they are deeply rooted in societal expectations, cultural pressures, and generational resilience. We’ve been conditioned to equate our worth with how much we can carry—but thriving shouldn’t come at the cost of our well-being.
